Single Dad Goes to Extremes Makeover to Make Daughter Feel Special on Mother's Day

Every year on Mother's Day or Father's Day, many schools in Thailand hold gratitude activities, hoping to awaken the seeds of love in children's hearts, and let the children have the courage to express their love for their parents. This should be an emotional moment, but it can be very embarrassing for students if they only have a single parent family.

Joe Lookphonbodee, a 48-year-old single father in Thailand, dressed up as a woman to attend her daughter school’s Mother’s Day event. He did this so that his daughter, Nong Cream, would not feel left out or inferior to the other students who had their mothers present.

Nong Cream, a Thai female student who is in the third grade this year, feels a little embarrassed, because she lives in a single-parent family and was raised by her adoptive father since she was a child. Nong Cream's adoptive father, Joe Lookphonbodee, works as a physical education teacher at his daughter's school. On Mother's Day, he came to school wearing a wig and a black and white checkered dress, giving his daughter a big surprise.

Joe Lookphonbodee, like the mothers of other students, sat on a chair to accept her daughter's kneeling ceremony. After the ceremony, the father and daughter hugged each other tightly. Joe Lookphonbodee kissed his daughter's forehead and touched her head from time to time, and helped her tidy her hair.

Joe Lookphonbodee said others peoples, it may be feel a strange and embarrassing thing for a man to dress up as a woman, but he feels very proud because he loves his daughter very much. He proudly said, "I can be your mother too." He didn't want his daughter to live in the shadow of childhood without a mother, so he decided to dress up and attend the school's Mother's Day event.

Nong Cream said that his father's behavior is very cute and fun, and she doesn't mind him doing it every year. "This year's Mother's Day, I want to say that I love my dad. Thank you dad for raising me and making me feel so happy. I don't feel that I lack anything in my life."
