The Wax Statue Of Queen Elizabeth II Was Left BALD Under Her Hat Because The Museum Wanted To Save Money

The wax statue of Queen Elizabeth II is located in the Panoptikum wax museum, Hamburg, Germany with bald hair on the top of her head is to reduce the cost of buying expensive real hair.

The picture of the Queen going bald went viral after the museum showed a behind -the -scenes the process of cleaning the wax model. This is an annual task at the Panoptikum museum with activities such as cleaning, washing hair, clothes and repairing scratches on statues.

During the cleaning process, museum staff removed the hat worn on the head of the Queen’s statue and combed her hair, but revealed her bald head. When seeing Queen Elizabeth II bald head, many people were shocked. One person tweeted "Go to the Panoptikum wax museum to see the bald Queen statue like that will haunt you every day." Another said "That's horrible, my God".

Panoptikum museum managers say this is a tactic aimed at saving money. Dr Susanne Faerber, managing of the museum, said: "Since we use real hair for our waxworks, which is inherently expensive, some model wearing hats won't be able to get the whole complete set of hair. We only transplant enough hair to the model that exposed hair to be seen by the guests."

When asked if she thought it was disrespectful to display the Queen with a bald head, Faerber stressed out, “it’s just wax work, not real person” and urged the visitor to keep that in mind.

The Panoptikum Wax Museum currently houses more than 120 statues, including statues of Donald Trump, Greta Thunberg and former German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The museum reopens from January 27, 2022.
