Street Fighter’s Most Smashed Car Is Finally Fixed

After decades of taking non-stop fireballs, spinning bird kicks, and flying uppercuts, video game history’s most famously battered sedan is finally getting its revenge.

In a clever crossover celebrating the upcoming Street Fighter movie, The General Insurance teamed up with legendary Fast & Furious vehicle builder Dennis McCarthy to bring the infamous Street Fighter II Bonus Stage car off the screen and onto the asphalt.

Debuted at ComplexCon in Los Angeles, the custom ride transforms 16-bit nostalgia into a street-legal masterpiece. McCarthy’s team meticulously sculpted the exterior to mimic its retro pixelated look while outfitting the interior with custom pixel upholstery, upgraded audio speakers, custom leather seats, and a coin-slot seat warmer.

“I’ve built a lot of wild cars over the years, but there’s something really fun about taking a car people have spent decades destroying in a video game and giving it a second life,” said McCarthy.

For The General, giving a fresh start to a car that spent thirty years taking dings and hits reflects their core message: helping drivers bounce back from coverage gaps or bumpy driving records.

“If this car can get a second chance, we think people deserve one too,” said Chauncey Citchens, director of marketing at The General.

The restoration ties into the brand’s broader ad campaign starring WWE powerhouse Roman Reigns as Akuma. Best of all, fans won't just see this retro ride on tour—they can actually own it. Through November 18, 2026, a nationwide sweepstakes is giving one fan the keys to the fully functional, pixel-restored car plus $25,400.69 in cash.
