Marketed as a "Twin Towers Memorial Model," this USB-powered diorama includes "realistic LED smoke & light effects" to depict the September 11, 2001 attacks. The model price US$231.55, a miniature replica of the World Trade Center, shows the towers with ominous, dark scorch marks and wisps of smoke, with one of the towers glowing a fiery red to simulate the impact.

This item’s promotion as a “collectible night display” is particularly jarring, as it commodifies a moment of immense grief and collective trauma. The use of special effects to sensationalize the destruction and loss of life is seen as a profound act of disrespect to the nearly 3,000 victims, their families, and the first responders who sacrificed their lives.

The product's design, which places the towers against a backdrop of the New York City skyline, attempts to transform a devastating historical event into a decorative gadget. Critics argue this isn't a memorial or a tribute; it's an exploitative piece of merchandise that reduces a monumental tragedy to a ghoulish novelty. 

While the creator has defended the model as a "remembrance piece" intended to honor victims and heroes, many people are calling it deeply insensitive.
