The world's largest marine science park, Zhuhai Chimelong, opened in Zhuhai, China, on September 11, 2023. The park is located in the Hengqin New Area of Zhuhai and covers an area of 400,000 square meters. It is home to over 100,000 marine animals of around 300 species, as well as 100 kinds of living coral split into 10 themed areas.

The museum can receive more than 50 thousand visitors per day. It features the largest aquarium window in the world and the largest live coral tank. At night, the building lights up and makes it look like a large spaceship. The park is housed in a futuristic spaceship-shaped building that is 650 meters long and 59.9 meters high. It features a number of world records, including the world's largest aquarium display window and the world's largest living coral tank.

Zhuhai Chimelong is more than just an aquarium. It is also a marine science education center that offers visitors a chance to learn about the ocean and its inhabitants through interactive exhibits and educational programs.

The park is divided into 10 themed areas, each of which focuses on a different aspect of marine life. The areas include:

  • Deep Sea: This area features exhibits on creatures that live in the deep sea, such as giant squid, anglerfish, and vampire squid.
  • Coral Reef: This area showcases the beauty and diversity of coral reefs, as well as the importance of protecting them.
  • Polar: This area features exhibits on polar bears, penguins, and other animals that live in the Arctic and Antarctic.
  • Rainforest: This area features exhibits on marine animals that live in tropical rainforests, such as piranhas, caimans, and anacondas.
  • Shark: This area features exhibits on a variety of shark species, including great white sharks, tiger sharks, and hammerhead sharks.
  • Rays: This area features exhibits on a variety of ray species, including manta rays, stingrays, and electric rays.
  • Marine Mammals: This area features exhibits on marine mammals such as dolphins, whales, and sea lions.
  • Marine Reptiles: This area features exhibits on marine reptiles such as sea turtles, crocodiles, and alligators.
  • Marine Birds: This area features exhibits on marine birds such as penguins, pelicans, and seagulls.
  • Marine Science Center: This area features interactive exhibits and educational programs that teach visitors about the ocean and its inhabitants.

In addition to its exhibits, Zhuhai Chimelong also offers a variety of other attractions, such as a submarine ride, a 4D theater, and a variety of restaurants and shops.

The park is a major tourist attraction for Zhuhai and is expected to attract millions of visitors each year. It is also a boon for the local economy, creating thousands of jobs and generating billions of yuan in revenue.
