Man Kidnapped 33 Years Ago Found His Mother By Drawing A Map Of His Village Through His Memory

Li Jingwei, a 37-year-old Chinese resident, who was kidnapped and sold to another family as a child, and discovered his real home based on a village map he drew and his childhood memories.

Li Jingwei of Yunnan Province was kidnapped from his home when he was four years old. He was taken away and sold to a couple who wanted to cuddle.

The boy's new home is a town in Henan province, located nearly two thousand kilometers from his village. Li grew up in a foster home, but he has hazy memories of his mother and where he was born.

When he has become an adult, he started looking for his parents, but he couldn’t remember the village name or his real name. Then Li draws from memory everything that he could remember about the house - on a homemade map, he describes the location of the house in the village, the river and the hills around it.

As a result, with the help of police and Internet activists, the man was able to find the village, he was born in was in a mountain village in Yunnan Province called Zhaotong. Police investigators managed to find a woman who matched Li's description, and then DNA tests confirmed that she was his biological mother. Separated over 30 years. Unfortunately, Li was unable to see his biological father again, as he had passed away a few years ago.

“Thirty-three years of waiting, countless gloomy nights, finally, a hand drawing maps from memory, and now the moment has arrived. Thanks to everyone who helped me reunite with my family" - he wrote in his account on one of the social networks before meeting his family.
