Chinese tourists have been warned for taking sea urchins from Koh Lan beach in Thailand. An officer at the Bali Hai Pier spotted a group of Chinese tourists who were back from Koh Lan beach, carrying sea urchins. They have been warned to leave them in the sea.

Sea urchins are not a protected animal. However, it is not allowed to be caught in protected areas without a permit. The fine for breaking the law is from 5,000 Baht to 50,000 Baht.
