The controllers were created in collaboration with Paramount Pictures to promote the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem movie. The movie, which is set to be released in August 2023, is a CG-animated reboot of the popular franchise.

The controllers were announced on July 24, 2023, and they are only available through a sweepstakes giveaway. To enter, fans must follow the Xbox Game Pass Twitter account and retweet a promotional tweet.

The giveaway will run from July 24 to August 13, 2023, and winners will be randomly selected.     The pizza-scented controllers are made of ooze green plastic and feature a built-in scent diffuser in the shape of a slice of pizza. The diffuser contains a liquid that slowly evaporates, releasing the smell of pizza into the air. The controllers also have a custom Xbox logo and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles logo.

The controllers have been met with mixed reactions from fans. Some people think they are a fun and unique way to celebrate the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, while others think they are a bit too strange. However, there is no denying that the controllers are a conversation starter.
