Due to the record high inflation in Japan, many traders announced price increases of goods including restaurant operators. This has caused the price of food items to increase. As a result, one of the local aquariums in Kanagawa prefecture had to save cost on food expenses for some animals there.

This situation is particularly disliked by penguins, who are always given expensive fish before inflation. Previously, penguins in aquariums were always given expensive ‘Aji fish’ or Japanese horse mackerel. Now, the aquarium management is changing the menu to cheap 'Saba fish' or Saba Mackerel. However, the situation caused the penguins go on a hunger strike and they didn't want to eat 'Saba fish' given to them by the aquarium staff. Even visitors who tried to feed these grumpy penguins, are also failing. This penguin just turned his head, and wanted to say: "We're not going to eat this garbage, thank you."

The management of the aquarium no longer gives expensive '‘Aji fish’ to the penguins after the price increased by 30 per cent. Currently aquarium management uses as much as 30 to 40 percent 'Saba fish' for food in the aquarium to save costs. Apart from penguins, Otters also refuse to eat saba fish. Netizens were amused by the behavior of this animals. Among them was comment, "Ahah, what a picky, look at them." "Ha, my cats also turn his faces from everything." "Great! They don't even think about the country's economy at all!"
