German artist Niclas Castello created a solid gold cube and placed it in the center of the largest park in Manhattan, as it turned out, it was an original publicity stunt designed to draw attention to his new cryptocurrency which he named “Castello”.

The cube is made of pure 24 carat 999.9 gold, weighs 186 kilograms, the cost of the original artwork was $11.7 million and took over 4500 hours to create it. The middle of the sculpture is hollow. The length of the cube wall is about half a meter, and the thickness is a little less than a centimeter.

The work of art, named "Castello CUBE", was made at the H. Rüetschi foundry in Aarau, Switzerland. It required a traditional hand-operated kiln, large enough to hold the entire volume of gold, to make it.

After the cube was display in Central Park, it was moved to a private gala dinner on Wall Street and attended by a large number of celebrities.
