The Suez Canal Declares an Emergency When Famous Cargo Ships "Ever Given" Want to Sail Through It Again

A giant cargo ship that blocked the Suez Canal in Egypt for nearly a week in March has caused disruption to global shipments.

Although the incident was resolved and it returned to normal, the owner of the Ever Given ship had to pay a fine of up to $ 600 million. After the ship is being repaired, the ship has returned for re-delivery the cargo.

On Sunday, December 19, 2021, the 400-meter-long ship arrived at the Suez Canal for the first time since the incident and was carrying a cargo from China. The destination is in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

When the Ever Given ship arrived in the Suez Canal, Officials made a “Declaration of emergency” immediately, because they don't want that thing was happening again.

The declaration of emergency caused all ships that had not entered the canal to stop moving and ships that were in the canal had to leave the canal as soon as possible to allow the Ever Given ship to enter unhindered to prevent accidents. Luckily, things went smoothly.
