Champlain Towers South In Miami Collapsed Killing 9 And Injured 11

On June 24, 2021, around 1:20 a.m. EDT, Champlain Towers South, a 12-story beachfront condominium building in the Miami suburb of Surfside, Florida, United States, partially collapsed.

Rescuers have been working at the site of the rubble, with the help of dogs, special cameras and sonar. Rescue teams have built special tunnels under the rubble to underground parking lots and in places where people are trapped.

Rescuers reported that they heard a knocking sound from under the wreckage, but there was a danger that the wreckage could hit not only the people underneath, but also the rescuers.

Each time they try to punch a hole through part of the structure, debris began to fall. At least nine people have been killed at this time and eleven others have been injured as a result of the collapse, the fate of the rest is still unknown.
